Latest Updates

On the 22nd of December a team from Increase Church will be going to the local brothels of the Illawarra to hand out gift bags to the girls who work in them. They already have visited the brothels a number of times over the last year, and they are committed to love these women the way that Jesus does. They have started to build good relationships with some of the girls and have begun to see fruit.

If you would like to contribute to the purchase of these gifts please email Rosie on:

Let us be United

The launch of City Women Illawarra saw over 200 women from different churches across the region come together to be UNITED. As well as enjoying a scrumptious and beautifully arranged High Tea the ladies heard a powerful and motivating message from Letitia Shelton, founder of City Women Toowoomba. While some of the content may have been confronting, the message Letitia brought home is that it is our job to work together and get out there to make the city a safer and better place.

As well as a mobilizing message, City Women Illawarra threw out the challenge to anyone who was willing to invest in the future of the girls of our region by funding the start-up of Shine in new schools. We were overwhelmed by the response and are looking forward to establishing this life changing program in as many as 7 schools across the region in the near future. We also have a list of passionate and motivated volunteers ready to work together for the betterment of our region, and we look forward to hosting a workshop on establishing and running Shine programs.

The vision of City Women Illawarra is to facilitate a network of women working together for the betterment of the city. We believe our launch event UNITED was the start of this process and can’t wait to see where God leads us on this journey. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents and support to making UNITED such a wonderful event … and thank you to all the City Women who attended.

We look forward to working with you in the future for the betterment of the Illawarra.

Launch – September 2014

Letitia SheltonCity Women Illawarra is connecting women with vision for the needs of the community. Women who want the tools and resources to make a difference in their own city, and a positive impact across the Illawarra region.

Our first event will introduce Letitia Shelton, founder of City Women Toowoomba. Letitia and her team work tirelessly to encourage, empower and value the women and girls of Toowoomba. Starting with the Shine program in schools across the region, City Women Toowoomba has expanded to include a popular full-colour magazine called “Bella”, which encourages young women to be who they are and provides an alternative to explicit modern day magazines.

Another great ministry is the Girls Getaway. This weekend away engages young women from 12 to 15 years of age, where they can experience fun, friendship and acceptance. It creates an environment which acts as a vehicle for building positive attitudes for life.

These are just two examples of the amazing work of City Women Toowoomba.

Please join us in September 2014 for the launch. (The exact location and date will be announced soon.)
